Guillaume Cossais
Since he can remember Guillaume Cossais has always drawn. Native of Guerande area, his childhood have been influenced by seascapes and harbour atmosphere. Practising drawing during many years, he’s getting a undeniable know how.
Having an inquiring mind, he’s interrested in fines arts and handcrafts. Attracted by painting, he started a decade ago, using gouache; then the evolution of his learning lead him to practise water colour, which since kept his interest. He’s converted to this discipline which needs high skill, offers luminosity and a magnificent transparency of colours.
Impregnated with the brittany seascapes atmosphere, he’s getting a special affinity for the sea and sailing. He enjoys making them stand out. According to him a painting should be elegant, special, and should reflect the best that a painter can do.
Guillaume Cossais is, since many years, exhibiting his paintings. He has won numerous awards in regional and national exhibitions and among others, he has been many times selected to take part to the Navy Exhibition, a biennial event organized by the National Navy Museum in Paris.
